“You Give Them To Eat!”

“You Give Them To Eat!”

Mark 6:35-37 (NLT)

Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and buy something to eat.” But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “With what?” they asked. “We’d have to work for months to earn enough money to buy food for all these people!”

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. A total of 5,000 men and their families were fed.

Jesus’ command was, “Give them something to eat.” The rational, natural mind of His disciples immediately kicked into gear with all its skepticism and human calculations.

But when the Lord gently led them to activate faith in the supernatural that day, they fed thousands of people.

The natural mind looks at what can’t be done with the little at hand; the supernatural contemplates God’s resources and what He can do with the little we put in His hands.

Today there are many who are hungry, with basic needs left unsatisfied. Jesus’ command remains the same: “Give them something to eat.”

Stop thinking about how little you have. Put it in the Lord’s hands. Give in faith to others so they are fed. When you do, God will provide extraordinarily for your household.

Pray like this: Father God, I take hold of Your Word today and I declare that You not only provide, but multiply whatever is placed in Your hands. Today I put the little I have in Your hands and I declare that by giving, I will lack nothing. By faith, I choose to help satisfy the need of my neighbor because You will be my supply. In the name of Jesus I declare it, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
