Wise Up!

Wise Up!

2 Kings 4:8-10 (NLT)

One day Elisha went to the town of Shunem. A wealthy woman lived there, and she urged him to come to her home for a meal. After that, whenever he passed that way, he would stop there for something to eat.  She said to her husband, “I am sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy man of God. 10 Let’s build a small room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp. Then he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.”

This woman understood how beneficial it was to spend time with people who could bless her life. She even invested in an exclusive bedroom for Elisha so he would not even think of staying somewhere else! How is it that we so easily waste time and money with people who do not contribute a single good thing, a word of advice or a blessing into our lives; and it is so difficult for us to invest resources to be with those who can give us wisdom and understanding of God’s ways? Like that woman did, make the decision to enrich your life by investing time in the Presence of God and with those who bring you closer to Him. Pray this way: Lord, thank You for this teaching. Your Words are always preventive medicine for my future. Teach me to invest my time better and acquire wisdom. In the name of Jesus, Amen! Have a blessed day!
