When I Bless, He Blesses More

When I Bless, He Blesses More

1 Peter 3:8-9 (NLT)

Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

The Apostle Peter––known for his impulsive, even violent outbursts, like the time he cut off the ear of one of the soldiers who came to arrest Jesus––now a much older man, counseled his readers to bless even those who do evil so that in the end the goodness of God becomes the flavor that is last savored.

Having God’s blessing is all that you need. That’s why when you are insulted, buffeted and attacked, respond with blessing and it will follow you into everything you endeavor to do.

Pray like this: Father God, I take Your counsel today and choose to apply it in every area of my life, because when I bless, You bless even more. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
