What You Do for the Least of These Matters

What You Do for the Least of These Matters

Matthew 25:37-40 (NLT)

“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

In this passage today, Jesus reminds us that when we reach out to help a neighbor in need with food, clothing, hospitality, it is the same as if we are doing it to Him. According to the complete passage (Matthew 25:31-46) how we react or respond will matter on the day fo judgment when He bestows on us our inheritance.

We are all living in a world filled with people in extreme need. Choose to serve others on earth, so that when you pass into eternity, the Lord will give honor to you.

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, thank You for reminding me that You are always found where there is a need. Help me today to be more sensitive and serve others, especially those who have need of the basic things. I ask You in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
