What To Do When the Water Is Bad

What To Do When the Water Is Bad

2 Kings 2:19-22 (NLT)

One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha. “We have a problem, my lord,” they told him. “This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.” Elisha said, “Bring me a new bowl with salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring that supplied the town with water and threw the salt into it. And he said, “This is what the Lord says: I have purified this water. It will no longer cause death or infertility. And the water has remained pure ever since, just as Elisha said.”

In this passage we see the authorities of Jericho acting wisely. To solve an economic and public health problem over which they had no control, they sought the counsel of God.

Whenever there is economic upheaval, a health crisis, sterility, death, whether in a family, a city or a nation, the wise solution is the same: seek God. His authority, His answers and His resources are far beyond what man can conceive.

Pray like this: Father God, I seek Your authority, Your word and Your unlimited supply of resources for my challenges and difficulties today. I seek You. I ask You to heal my household, my city and my nation. I believe that You can and will. In the name of Jesus! Amen!

Have a blessed day!
