Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Everyone runs in the race of life: men and women, children, young and old, feeble and strong. It’s a unique race––one which everyone can win if they observe a few key principles:
1) Get rid of the sin baggage you are carrying. It is a counterweight that does not allow you to achieve the finish line God has set for you.
2) Run with patience. It’s a marathon. You will need to tap into the supernatural strength available to you from God. Your’s will not be enough.
3) Never take your eyes off Jesus. Problems and obstacles will distract you and try to derail you. Keep the Lord in sight because not only is He the originator of faith, He also perfects it in you!
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I am choosing to enter this race with You today, and for that reason I come to repent of my sins so You can lift that weight off my shoulders. I put my gaze on Jesus who is my goal line and my best cheerleader, and I receive His strength for today’s leg of the marathon. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
