Isaiah 5:20-23 (NIV)
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent.

We live in times of terrible confusion where evildoers are celebrated and he who does good is despised. Our world is filled with a social schizophrenia that celebrates changing partners every few months, but considers “old-fashioned” the couple that celebrates their Silver Wedding Anniversary. Paying and receiving bribes is a common occurence. Good is now bad, and bad is good.
History teaches that the precepts and values of the Word of God do not change. Centuries pass, empires are overthrown, governments are voted in and out, but His laws remain the same. One of the reasons this daily bread from the Word is sent is to help you remember these truths and keep them at the forefront of your mind, so that everything you do will prosper and endure, and outlast every affliction and hardship you and your family may face.
Pray this way: Father God, forgive me for having been carried along by the current of today’s trends that has brought me so much headache. Today I choose to live and share the values of heaven in all that I do and say. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
