John 18:37-40 (NLT)
Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” “What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime. But you have a custom of asking me to release one prisoner each year at Passover. Would you like me to release this ‘King of the Jews’?”
But they shouted back, “No! Not this man. We want Barabbas!” (Barabbas was a revolutionary.)

On that Thursday night, after dinner, Judas betrays Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, unleashing a torrent of false accusation and political and religious wrangling resulting in the people turning their backs on their Savior, preferring the release of a guerrilla over the Savior of the world.
Finally he is unjustly crucified, sacrificed more cruelly than any Passover lamb was ever sacrificed, plowing right through all the injustice and rejection of man to give his life once and for all—all the sin of all the people who ever “played Judas” on Him. He chose you so that this Easter you can choose Him. Recognize His sacrifice for you. Receive His salvation in the fullest measure. Enter into the blessings He has in store for you.
Pray this way: Father God, I thank You for Jesus, who offered His life to give me eternal life. He was taken captive so that I might be free. He carried my sin and betrayal so that I could be forgiven. Out of His wounds I find healing for all of my illnesses. Because of His death, I can have life abundantly and eternally. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
