The Step That Parts the River

The Step That Parts the River

Joshua 3:14-16. (NLT)

So the people left their camp to cross the Jordan, and the priests who were carrying the Ark of the Covenant went ahead of them. 15 It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge, the water above that point began backing up a great distance away at a town called Adam, which is near Zarethan. And the water below that point flowed on to the Dead Sea until the riverbed was dry. Then all the people crossed over near the town of Jericho.

At the time when the Jordan River was at its highest, God sent a whole nation to move forward. But it wasn’t until they took a step of faith and got their feet wet that the miracle took place, and the waters stopped flowing.

If a raging river is stopping you from getting where you know God wants you to go, don’t wait for the waters to go down, for a bridge to be built, for a lifeline to be thrown at you or for a path to open before. You have to take a step of faith, get your feet wet in the river. God is pleased with such courage and faith and will back you up with all the power of Heaven.

You may want to pray this prayer:
Father God, even though there is a river raging at flood stage before me, by Your Word I take a step of faith to get out of where I am so that You can get me to where You want me to go. I choose to live and walk by faith in You. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
