The Sound of His Voice

The Sound of His Voice

1 Kings 18:41-45 (NIV)

And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked.
“There is nothing there,” he said.
Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.” The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’” Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.

The drought lasted three years because of the sin of this evil king and the nation. The sun had scorched and cracked the earth, but Elijah heard the sound of a great rainstorm approaching.

I do not know how long you’ve been in a drought, but God wants you to tune your ears to listen for His voice. Faith does not come by what you see but by hearing what God tells you.

Listen for the sound of a rainstorm brewing in the middle of your desert. Believe by faith that today the drought is ending in every area of your life!

Pray this way: Father God, I thank You that showers of blessing are coming my way. Even though my eyes still cannot see it, I hear your Word and I receive it. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
