Amos 4:6-8 (NLT)
“I brought hunger to every city and famine to every town. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord. “I kept the rain from falling when your crops needed it the most. I sent rain on one town but withheld it from another. Rain fell on one field, while another field withered away. People staggered from town to town looking for water, but there was never enough. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord.

Just as a good father sets limits and disciplines his children so they will have solid parameters to guide them to good success throughout their lives, so God also takes measures to transform individuals and nations to bring them close to Him, because no matter the circumstances, in His presence there is security, abundance and blessing.
Humble yourself, therefore. Turn to God now. Invite Him into your heart, your home, your neighborhood and your nation. He will come immediately and increasingly with every passing day.
You may want to pray like this: Father God, I thank You that You are a God who is a Father––the best Father. I thank You for the way You desire me and the manner in which You pursue my nation. I need to repent for my resistance and rebellion. I ask You to forgive me for ignoring You. I turn to You to receive the parameters You have designed for my good so that my home and my nation can know Your blessing and healing. I do so in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
