The Power of Your Words

The Power of Your Words

James 5:16-18 (NLT)

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.

Words expressed in prayer to God pack a lot of power and can bring most wonderful results. So James encourages you to pray.

But words can also produce “drought.” Expressions such as “I can’t stand it anymore,” “I’m useless,” “I will never get ahead,” “Politicians are all corrupt,” etc., will foster destruction and even bring a curse over your work, your business, your family, your city and your government.

Use your words to bless your own life and that of your family. Pray earnestly for your city and its authorities. In response you will see wonderful results.

Pray like this: Father God, I declare that this will be a new season speaking of blessing over my family, my home and my workplace. I bless the community where I live and I lift its authorities up to You for You to guide them by the blessings You send. I declare that wonderful things will come to pass. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
