The Downpayment On Transformation

The Downpayment On Transformation

Matthew 25:37-40 (NLT)

“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,[a] you were doing it to me!’”

We will all at some point give an account of our attitude toward the needs of others––how we use our material resources, how much of our time we use to share with others. A look of love and mercy towards those who cannot give anything back is a deposit in the bank of God, a downpayment on something transformational on earth. And heaven always “pays” the best “interests.”

Open your hand to the needy when you have the possibility to do it, and the hand of God will also open over your life.

Pray like this: Lord, I confess to You that I have been indifferent to those who need me. I don’t want to be that way. I want to use the blessing You have given me to help those who suffer. Help me today, Lord. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
