The Chainbreaker

The Chainbreaker

Psalm 107:10-14 (NLT)

Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery. They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains.

Rebellion and mocking the Word of God brings the consequences described by the psalmist as much to a person as to a nation: suffering, bitterness, unjust labor, poverty––and all of that without even a flicker of light to show how to get out of the crisis.

But returning to God always brings salvation from such affliction. He did it in times past and He can do it today in your life and nation.

No matter the modern-day form of bondage: lack of work, stronghold of debt, confinement of poverty, fear of recession, grip of disease––God is still the Chain Breaker. He will dispel the darkness and set you free to prosper again if you come back to Him.

Pray like this: Lord, I confess that I have not sought You or accepted Your counsel. Please forgive me for my rebellious and sinful acts. Break the chains that have me trapped today, I pray, and give me a new start. I ask You in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Have a blessed day!
