1 Peter 2:21-23 (NLT)
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.

Jesus was always going about doing good, laying down His life for the benefit of others. Though He was criticized, insulted, unjustly condemned to death, but He wasted no time defending Himself.
Peter, one of his disciples and apostles, counsels us to imitate Him. Do not wear yourself out in defending yourself so much. Do not get bitter or allow resentment to enter your heart; do not return evil for evil; and do not take revenge. Leave your cause in the Lord’s hands, stay the course and keep your focus on the good. In this way you will be able to move forward in freedom and authority.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I confess that I have spent too much time on tears, regrets and even thoughts of revenge. Forgive me! Today I forgive those who have wronged me and I choose to put my cause in Your hands, recognizing that You are my Defense Attorney. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
