1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Most of the letters that the Apostle Paul wrote were written from a prison cell where he had been unjustly imprisoned for Christ’s sake. Even so, he never failed to apply and share the powerful principle of giving thanks for everything, of always being joyful. And he achieved it through prayer.
You see, dissatisfaction opens the door to envy, greed, corruption, bitterness and unhappiness. Thankfulness does the opposite. It is the fountain of pleasure, generosity, wholesomeness, joy and contentment.
Start your day by giving thanks, rejoicing for what you have and entrusting to the Lord whatever thing you lack, knowing that He is faithful. This seemingly small act will bring unimaginable blessing into your life.
You may want to pray this way:
Father God, I recognize that I have concerned myself more in the things I have lacked than in thanking You for all that I receive day in and day out. So beginning today, I am taking time to first say, “Thank You!” Thank You for this new day. Thank You for Your care. Thank You for life. Thank You for everything You are doing for me in this season––for the things I can see and those I do not yet see. Thank You, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
