Taxes and Honor

Taxes and Honor

Matthew 17:25-27 (NLT)
Jesus asked him, “What do you think, Peter? Do kings tax their own people or the people they have conquered?” “They tax the people they have conquered,” Peter replied. “Well, then,” Jesus said, “the citizens are free! However, we don’t want to offend them, so go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us.”

God wants you to pay your taxes and debts, even when they may be unfair. Both Jesus and Peter found themselves in that situation. Peter was a fisherman, so the Lord used his fishing skills to work a miracle that kept them both in an honorable position. Put your abilities in the hands of God and supernaturally you will be able to fulfill all your commitments and still have more to honor Jesus.

Pray this way: Lord, I have debts that I have not been able to cancel, but through this Word I know that, by putting my skills and abilities into Your hands and then following Your voice, You will show me the way to do it. Help me, Lord! In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
