Psalm 62:5-8 (NLT)
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.

King David experienced God’s care on many occasions, but even then there were times, like the one here, when he had to talk to himself—to remind his soul to take it easy, to hope in the Lord, to hide himself in the Rock that no enemy could penetrate. Once he was in that place, he could give wise leadership to those entrusted to his care to trust and take refuge in Him.
Start your day by coming close to God, by telling him the expectations of your heart and presenting your dreams and concerns. Tell your soul to wait quietly before Him. He will guide you and remove all your fears.
Pray this way: Father God, today I begin the day taking Your hand, seeking to walk in Your ways, putting my dreams and the desires of my heart before You so that I can walk securely and lead confidently. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
