Sheep-ish

Sheep-ish

Psalm 23:1-4 (NLT)

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

The lamb is a fearful and skittish animal, but when the shepherd is nearby it feels safe and protected.

King David, author of this Psalm, had been a shepherd in his youth and knew the sheep trusted him because he cared for them even at the risk of his own life.

Today, by making God your shepherd, you too can live safe and secure, confident that you will not lack anything. Even when dark shadows surrounds you, He will renew your strength so that you keep moving ahead, and He will illuminate you so that you choose the best path to take.

Pray this way: Lord, You are my Shepherd. In You I am confident that nothing will be lacking for me, even in the worst of times. Enlighten me to follow Your steps and not get detoured along the way. I receive from You the strength I need for this day. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
