Acts 27:19-22 (NLT)
The following day they threw out the tackle and anything else they could lay their hands on. The terrible storm raged unabated many days, until at last all hope was gone. No one had eaten for a long time, but finally Paul called the crew together and said, “Men, you should have listened to me in the first place and not left Fair Havens—you would have avoided all this injury and loss! But cheer up! Not one of us will lose our lives, even though the ship will go down.”

“ I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.”

God, through the Apostle Paul, had warned the crew of the ship that these were no conditions for sailing, but they had preferred to rely on their own knowledge and instincts, and the result was catastrophic.
Day in and day out, God is showing you the route to take and the manner in which to travel. If you listen to Him, you will journey safely and securely.
If you are already in the middle of the storm, if you have had to toss everything overboard, if you have lost all hope, be confident like Paul that God is still with you to provide you with life. “Be of good cheer,” He says, “I have overcome the world.” Believe it!
Pray like this: Father God, I am shipwrecked in the middle of a storm––either of my own making or of something beyond my control. But today I take hold of Your promise of life. Lead me into the life that is beyond this shipwreck. Like Paul, I want to be an overcomer by Your power. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
