Rear-View Mirror Caution

Rear-View Mirror Caution

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT)

“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Just as it is very difficult to drive a car forward while looking in the rear view mirror, it is also difficult to advance in life by always looking back on the frustrated dreams, unresolved hurts, poor decision and failed business ventures, always crying over the losses suffered.

Don’t let disruptive memories from your past undermine the possibilities in your present. Plant this promise into your mind and heart. Declare it during the day. Walk with faith towards the new thing God promises to do. Stay on the path that will lead you out of your desert and into the land of abundant life.

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I cling to Your promise. I uproot everything negative from my life and I begin to walk in faith, believing that You are powerful to do something new that I have never even dared to dream of. In the name of Jesus, Amen!”

Have a blessed day!
