Genesis 3:11-13 (NLT)
“Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?” The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.” Then the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?” “The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it.”

Adam and Eve did not acknowledge their sin, nor did they repent. According to them, the culprit was someone else.
This is our nature. Instead of humbling ourselves before God and asking for forgiveness, we always look to blame something or someone else for what went wrong. If our marriage is in crisis, our spouse is to blame. If the business is panning out, it’s the government’s fault. If I’m failing, it’s my parents’ fault. Even thieves are blaming the pandemic to justify their actions these days. Somehow we come up with a culprit to blame for every problem we face instead of taking responsibility for our own actions.
If you want to live a life of victory, that will have to change. Acknowledge your sins, ask God for forgiveness, give your life to Jesus, change your mindset and receive the new life God has promised for those who want follow Him. Then you will begin to walk in the blessings of the Lord.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I recognize that my own mistakes are what have gotten me into trouble, and I come to You to ask for Your forgiveness. I surrender my life to Christ so I can begin to walk the rest of my life in obedience to You. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
