Joshua 10:12-14 (NLT)
On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day. There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day!

This is one of the most daring prayers recorded in the Bible. Let it encourage you to dare to believe big and pray big. Joshua believed God could do anything and everything, and God has not changed!
Pray is not something done out of obligation, it is not a mere religious ritual, nor is it designed to ask God to do something you can achieve in your own strength.
No, prayer is a God-given privilege by which He puts His power and resources at your disposal to meet a need on Earth. The measure by which you receive will be according to the measure with which you pray.
When you pray, therefore, pray like Joshua. Be bold. Ask God for something beyond your strength or capabilities. Pray prayers that dignify the greatness of God. Instead of telling Him how big your problem is, tell your problem how big your God is, and then pray accordingly!
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I get it! You are powerful to respond beyond my wildest expectation to any and every situation I may be facing. Open my spiritual eyes to see Your grandeur, and loose my tongue to pray the kind prayers You want to hear. I want Your name to be magnified in my life and my nation. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
