Paying It Upward

Paying It Upward

Psalm 41:1-3. (NLT)

Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Don’t just breeze on by a person who is in material need. Don’t neglect the sick, shy away from those who lack affection, or avoid those who trapped by vice or weakness.

Kindness given to the poor is an investment in the “bank” of heaven, a deposit to your account, which will “pay interest” when you are in trouble, when your health fails, or when you go through financial insecurity. What a privilege to have God’s support! What a joy to have the guarantee of His protection every day of your life!

You may want to pray like this: Father God, I recognize that many times I have looked away from those who are in need around me. But today I receive Your exhortation. I open my eyes to look at others, I extend my hands to those in need. And as I do, I receive Your supernatural protection and provision. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
