Outmaneuvering Bitterness

Outmaneuvering Bitterness

Romans 12:19-21 (NLT)

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

If you have been cheated on economically, spoken of behind your back, if your friends have left you hanging, or betrayed you, don’t let bitterness take control over you. Instead, free yourself from any desire for revenge because it will only come back to harm you.

Bless even your enemies, overcome by doing good to everyone and leave the case in the hands of God, because that is where your restitution will come from.

Pray like this: Father, thank You because You always want the best for my life and therefore I give up all feelings of resentment, bitterness and revenge, believing that You are my defense and my reward. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
