Man Overboard!

Man Overboard!

Matthew 14:27-31 (NLT)

But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here! Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”

If you want to see what you have never seen before, you will have to risk doing what you have never done before. Get out of your comfort zone and walk toward what seems impossible. Try to reconcile with the person who has become estranged. Take on that new venture that is on your heart with bold faith. Put an end to the addiction that has you lashed to the gunnels of your boat. Go over the side, feet first, and walk, without taking your eyes off Jesus so that the tempestuous wind and waves swirling about you does not take you under. Then you will see that for those who believe, everything is possible!

Pray this way: Lord, thank You for Your Word, because it encourages me to move out of numbning complacency to take bold steps of faith. Today I choose to walk on the crest of the waves surrounding me, and not be pulled down by them. I do so in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
