Luke 15:17-18, 22-24 (NLT)
“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you and I am no longer worthy of being called your son…But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.

The son in this story had been estranged from his father, and from the pits of his resounding failure he realized that there was nothing better than going home.
If you have fallen into failure, if you have failed Him, if you left “home” to try to do it on your own, it’s time to return to the Lord! Go back to “His house.” He is eagerly waiting to forgive you for your mistakes and rebellion. You are His son, and He will always be a Faithful Father to you. With open arms, waiting for you to bless you again.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I acknowledge that I have failed and I come to ask for Your forgiveness and Your blessing. I thank You for Your great faithfulness, for giving me another opportunity, for receiving me once more into the protection and refuge of Your care. I desire to live in the shelter of Your covering all the days of my life. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
