Mark 5:22-36 (NLT)
Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, pleading fervently with him. “My little daughter is dying,” he said. “Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.” […While He was still on His way], messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” …When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus [took] her hand, he said to her, “Little girl, get up!” And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around!

Jairus was one who, like most of the leaders of the Synagogue, criticized Jesus. He did not believe in His words, nor in His miracles, and he even tried to keep people from following Him. But one day, he came up against a single, solitary problem that overcame him: his daughter was dying.
Maybe you are in a similar situation. You have not had faith in what Jesus could do. Because you didn’t understand, you harbored criticism in your heart. Perhaps you expressed it to others. But none of that has changed who Jesus is. You, too, can do what Jairus did: put aside your prejudices, come to Jesus, fall at His feet and make your plea. The same Jesus who did not hold Jairus’ ignorance and critical spirit against him, but healed his daughter, is more than willing to come to your house and meet your every need. Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.
Pray like this: Father God, I desperately need your help, just like Jairus. I need You to come to my to my house, to help me and save me from the dire situation that I am in. Come, Lord Jesus, come I pray, in Your holy Name, Amen!
