Luke 6:30-31, 35 (NLT)
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back. Do to others as you would like them to do to you…“Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, for you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.

A portion of food that you give to the needy, a coat, a word of encouragement or comfort, an offering to the poor––everything you do for the wellbeing of others is recorded in Heaven.
Even if no one thanks you and you receive nothing in return, God, who does not owe anything to anyone, will give you His reward because you will be acting like a true child of God.
Pray like this: Father God, I repent of being focused only to my needs without even noticing the needs of those that are near me. I want to behave more like a true child of Yours, to change my attitude and to lift my eyes to see the needs of others and generously extend my hand to those in need. Your recompense will be more than enough for me. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
