He Came Down

He Came Down

Exodus 3:7-9 (NLT)

Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live. Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them.

The cry of the anguished, oppressed and abused was the prelude to the first “Easter”—the Passover. The extreme suffering of His people moved the hand of God.

Many people are experiencing extreme situations today of every kind. If you are one of them, know that God has seen your oppression, has heard your cry, and He has come down to you by sending His Son, Jesus, to rescue and free you from your pain and suffering in order to introduce you to a new season and place of abundant blessing.

Pray this way: Father God, I thank You for sending Your Son to save me. I recognize that sin enslaves and brings anguish and pain. That is why today I ask Your forgiveness and I receive the freedom that Jesus bought on the cross of Calvary. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
