Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Writing from prison, the Apostle Paul sent this instruction on the importance of being careful about how you use your mind and how to guard your heart. It involves praying about everything, and believing that the answer is already on the way, thanking the Lord in advance for it.
Dwelling on the past will depress you. Focusing too much on the uncertainties of the future will make you anxious. Worrying about the present––about the money that is never enough; about the situation in the nation; about broken relationships––will cause stress to pile up, sap your strength and even make your body sick.
But when you entrust everything to God’s care, with thanksgiving (that’s faith!), His peace comes to stand guard at your heart and mind and allows you to really “live in Christ Jesus” in spite of everything that may be out of place around you.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, thank You for this day, which I begin by taking hold of Your hand. I give up being worried and complaining. I shun negative thoughts, doubts and disbelief. Instead, I cast all my cares upon You, and I thank You that even as I pray, You are sending me the strength and the wisdom I need to stand firm to this difficult time. I am at peace in the name of Jesus, Amen!
