Jonah 2 (NLT)
Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from inside the fish. He said, “I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me…As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you…Then the Lord ordered the fish to spit Jonah out onto the beach.

Jonah’s prideful resistance got him thrown into the sea and swallowed by a big fish for refusing to obey God. But as his life was slipping away, he remembered God, humbled himself and asked the Lord for help. God quickly came to his rescue and produced a 180º change of direction.
While Jonah deserved heaven’s worst treatment, here we see how eager the God he disobeyed was to restore him and use him for His glory.
If you have gotten off track and are at the end of your rope, you’ll find that is where God resides. A cry to Him is all He needs for a rescue operation to snatch you from the “sea” that is swallowing you alive. Like Jonah, you, too, will find that He who began a good work in you is eager to complete it with you (see Philippians 1:6).
Pray like this: Father, I take ownership of my pride and rebellion. I humble myself before You, I appeal to Your mercy and I ask Your forgiveness. Save my life, I pray. Restore me and resurrect the plans and projects You have designed for me. I ask this in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
