Matthew 15:11 (NLT)
It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
When your words are full of criticism, harshness and curses, your mind is contaminated and in darkness and you end up affecting others as well.
Your words reflect what is inside you, or as Jesus said in another passage, “Out of the abundance of your heart your mouth speaks.”
Give up that way of thinking and speaking. Let your words impart healing, life, blessing, and hope to all who hear you. You will be the main beneficiary.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I realize that my words are contrary to Your plan for blessing others. I receive your good counsel and am committed to replacing everything unrighteous in my heart with everything righteous that comes from You, so that righteousness, joy and peace flow from my lips. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
