Joshua 14:10-12 (NLT)
“Now, as you can see, the Lord has kept me alive and well as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old. I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then. So give me the hill country that the Lord promised me. You will remember that as scouts we found the descendants of Anak living there in great, walled towns. But if the Lord is with me, I will drive them out of the land, just as the Lord said.”

Caleb was 85 years old, but that didn’t hold him back from pursuing a new horizon. Strength he had. What he needed was for God to guide him in how to do it.
Right now, as this new year is just beginning, it is time for you to launch into your dreams and projects. It does not matter how big they are, or if you are very young or even very old, or whether you have much or little strength or resources. Take your vision to the Lord. Make sure He is with you to show you the way, and then like Caleb, you, too, will conquer everything you propose to do.
You may want to pray a prayer like this: Father God, thank You for this new year. I start it with great expectation because I am choosing to start it with You. I bring to You the desires of my heart for this year, knowing that to achieve them I need You and I need to be with You so that I can follow in Your footsteps. Speak to me and guide, I pray, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
