Give Him What’s Broken

Give Him What’s Broken

Psalm 51:16-17 (NLT)

You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

King David knew that his sins separated him from God and His blessings, robbed him of resources, destroyed his family and even made him physically ill. That is why he boldly declares the importance of humbling yourself, repenting and changing course rather than getting lost even more in a never-ending litany of religious sacrifices.

God brought you into the world so that you could not only live a happy, prosperous life in peace, but also be part of His purposes and plans to make this world a better place. Recover your destiny by reconciling yourself to Him. God has yet to reject a broken and repentant heart.

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I acknowledge that my sin has cost me intimacy with you and blessings from Your hand that You have designed for my good and the good of those around me. I ask You for Your forgiveness and put all the broken pieces of my life in Your hands for You to remake me. Thank You, in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
