Matthew 7:24-27
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

In the midst of a crisis like the one we all are facing right now, Jesus’ words take on great meaning. Those who trusted in the power of their wealth and the status their high-end car, brand clothing and human strength gave them are quickly realizing that all of that combined is not enough to weather this storm. When you build on the sand, you need to brace yourself for a very loud crash.
So why not make use of this time that you are cooped up inside to lay plans for building your life, your house and your legacy on a solid foundation and eternal values: God, family, love, life, generosity, solidarity, honesty, order.
This stormy weather is going to pass. God in His mercy will sustain you. May the next storm not find you out on the sand and everything collapsing around. Anchor your life and family on the Rock that is Jesus and you will have the necessary foundation to build a future with greatness.
Pray like this: Father God, forgive me for leaning on my own strength and understanding. I recognize that I need to build my life on Jesus, so today I choose the most important things in life as my construction materials. I ask for your protection to weather this storm. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
