Matthew 7:24-27 (NLT)
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

How well and wisely you have been building your life, your home and your vocation becomes evident when the winds of hardship blow and the storms of difficulty rain down upon it.
If you build on rock, reading, heeding and meditating on the Word of God, you will withstand the storms. If, on the other hand, you despise the truths of the Word of God and ignore the Lord’s counsel, you put yourself at the mercy of the merciless, contrary forces that come against you. That’s not a good place to be.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I thank You for the wisdom and counsel that comes from Your Word and Your words to me. I give myself to guarding them in my heart and applying them to my life so that I can build everything I am and have on solid foundations that will overcome the tests of time. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
