Follow Me

Follow Me

Matthew 9:9-13 (NLT)

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum? When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

“Follow me,” is the word that Jesus gave to a corrupt tax collector, a fishing entrepreneur and a rich young man, and their lives, their livelihood and even their friends were radically changed. “Follow me” is Jesus’ invitation to you. Why don’t you demonstrate the same audacity as they did and follow Jesus so that your life will become completely transformational?

Pray like this: Lord, thank You for this opportunity to leave behind the things that have kept me from walking in the fullness of Your call on my life. Today I decide to follow You, to look for Your guidance every day and to receive the blessings You have for me and for everyone in my circle of influence. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
