When they came near the camp, Moses saw the calf and the dancing, and he burned with anger. He threw the stone tablets to the ground, smashing them at the foot of the mountain. He took the calf they had made and burned it. Then he ground it into powder, threw it into the water, and forced the people to drink it…
…Then the Lord told Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones. I will write on them the same words that were on the tablets you smashed. Be ready in the morning to climb up Mount Sinai and present yourself to me on the top of the mountain.

God had entrusted Moses with ten commandments that would bless the people, so that all might live well and under the favor of God. But the people were impatient and preferred to worship an idol. Moses, in an act of anger, destroyed the tablets that God had engraved. We are all guilty of having broken God’s plan for our lives and this has brought very negative consequences: unrest, unproductiveness, disease, and even death. But God wants to give you another chance. He invites you to “rise” again to His Presence so that He can write His Words, not on tablets of stones but on your heart, so that His blessing may follow you all the days of your life. Pray this way: Lord, thank You that You are the God of the second chance, and for this opportunity to reconcile with You. I ask you to write Your commandments on my heart. By Your mercy and grace, restore all that I have ruined because of my sin. In the name of Jesus, Amen! Have a blessed day!
