Genesis 11:31-12:2 (NLT)
One day Terah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law Sarai (his son Abram’s wife), and his grandson Lot (his son Haran’s child) and moved away from Ur of the Chaldeans. He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there. The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.

The Lord had told to Abraham “…to go to the land that I will show you.” But on the way, his family stopped in a land that linked them to their past and reminded them of their brother’s death.
God wanted to bless them with new life, but for that to happen, they had to make a decision to leave the place of death.
That is a principle that applies to your life. Unwholesome memories, toxic relationships, bankrupt businesses, haunting failures and destructive vices only serve to hold you back from your destiny. That is why God tells you that you need to get up and move on. You must leave the past behind in order to establish yourself in a new season and place of blessing.
Pray like this: Father God, thank You for this clear and decisive word. I confess that I am stuck in my journey through life––stopped dead in my tracks. Today I choose to get up and get out of my land of death so that I can start walking forward by faith into place of extraordinary blessing and life. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
