Don’t Lose Your Grip

Don’t Lose Your Grip

Psalm 69:9-13 (NLT)

The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me. When I weep and fast, they scoff at me. When I dress in burlap to show sorrow, they make fun of me. I am the favorite topic of town gossip, and all the drunks sing about me. But I keep praying to you, Lord, hoping this time you will show me favor. In your unfailing love, O God, answer my prayer with your sure salvation.

In this Psalm, King David reveals the brutal ridicule that he suffered from his subjects and even his brothers for seeking God in His decision-making as a government head. But David never waivered from some realities his detractors were ignoring or never knew: God was listening, and He would answer, because His love for him was constant and inexhaustible.

Never lose your own grip on these realities for your own life when others mock and belittle you for your faith. And pray for those in authority and positions of influence in government who know and love the Lord, that they would be encouraged in their faith and strengthened in their hope.

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I declare and reaffirm my faith in You today, that Your love is flowing constantly and never runs out, that by Your mercy and grace You are listening and will answer all those that seek You. As for me, I will follow you all the days of my life. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
