Do It Again

Do It Again

2 Kings 5:9-11 (NLT)

So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and waited at the door of Elisha’s house. But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message: “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.” But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me!

This successful Syrian general was quite accustomed to being honored and so as a result, his pride was keeping him from “making a fool of himself” by dipping seven times in the muddy Jordan River.

But if you keep reading the passage, you will find out that his slave girl finally convinced him to “take the plunge.” The first six tries produced no change, but when he went in for the seventh time, he came out completely immediately cleansed of his incurable leprosy.

Today’s word is “do it again.” Even though you have not seen any changes so far, keep on immersing yourself in the river of God. Pray one more time, believing that in the end God will bring about the cleansing of all that appears to be incurable in your life.

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, You know that things have not gone well for me, but today, according to your Word, I come to You again. I believe again. I obey again. I immerse myself in Your river once more, and I will keep on believing until the miracle takes place. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
