Defeating Giants

Defeating Giants

2 Samuel 21:15-17 (NLT)

Once again the Philistines were at war with Israel. And when David and his men were in the thick of battle, David became weak and exhausted. Ishbi-benob was a descendant of the giants; his bronze spearhead weighed more than seven pounds, and he was armed with a new sword. He had cornered David and was about to kill him. But Abishai son of Zeruiah came to David’s rescue and killed the Philistine.

Before becoming king, David had defeated the famous Goliath. Later he taught his own soldiers how to fight and not fear their trials, no matter how “giant” they were. One of those apprentices, now an officer, used his training to save David’s own life. God still makes available the supernatural forces you need to overcome whatever “giants” may be showing up on your “battlefield.” Use them, and then as David did, share your life lessons—your “daily bread” with those that are following you, so that they imitate your attitude, overcome their own difficulties, and even, when your own strength fails, help you to keep standing. Pray this way: Father, thank You for making available the supernatural resources I need to overcome the “giants” in my life. I receive and apply them today and I ask You to empower me to impart them to faithful followers, who will also teach others. In the name of Jesus, Amen! Have a blessed day!
