Dealing With the Pandemic of Angst Isaiah 61:7 (NLT) Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . There is a pandemic of another kind that is sweeping our world––a social upheaval of angst and anger that is leaving people and even entire societies victim to physical abuse, bullying, scams, defamation, dishonor, contempt and shame. Racism abounds. But just as God reassured His people in this passage, so He reassures you that if you hold fast to your faith in Him, He holds double the joy, honor and inheritance in reserve for you. So don’t dwell any more on what someone did to you. Forgive and even bless the aggressor. Hold on to this promise and prepare to receive it, because everything that God promises He fulfills. You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I thank You for this promise today, which I believe and receive for my life. I leave the suffering in my past behind, and I step into the future of joy and the heritage of honor that You have in store for me, in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen!
