Dead or Alive?

Dead or Alive?

Luke 7:11-15 (NLT)

Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him. A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.

A few days ago a mother told me that her drug addict son had stolen valuables from her, and ended by saying, “For me, he’s dead.” I told her this story about Jesus, and then I said, “If you believe, your son will live.”

The Lord is the Giver of life; in His presence all that is dead comes back to life—a lost job, a business deal, a broken relationship, a devastated family. Before burying something, first put it in the hands of God.

Pray like this: Lord, I believe your Words produce life. So I now ask that the same power that raised the widow’s son back to life come over my house, resurrect my dreams, revive my projects and restore my relationships. Everything that is dead, come alive now! In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
