Dead and Buried? Maybe Not!

Dead and Buried? Maybe Not!

John 11 (NLT)

When Jesus arrived at Bethany, he was told that Lazarus had already been in his grave for four days… and many of the people had come to console Martha and Mary in their loss. Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.” “Yes,” Martha said, “he will rise when everyone else rises, at the last day.” …Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”

At the time of this story, there was a belief that if one died one could be resurrected on the first or second day, and some even extended it until the third day. Jesus appeared on the fourth day and, contrary to the commonly-held possibilities, resurrected Lazarus!

If something in your life has died––a business or business deal that you feel should have prospered; a family, relationship gone sour; a dream that has become hopeless or project that has dried up––don’t give up and bury it. Call Jesus now, because everything Jesus touches comes to life and what He calls forth responds. He is life and what is dead will live again!

Pray like this: Lord, I believe that You are the resurrection and life, so I seek Your help. I put my life and my circumstances in your hands so that everything that is no longer comes to life again for Your honor and glory. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
