Amos 5:8-11 (NLT)
It is the Lord who created the stars, the Pleiades and Orion.
He turns darkness into morning and day into night. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name! With blinding speed and power he destroys the strong, crushing all their defenses. How you hate honest judges! How you despise people who tell the truth! You trample the poor, stealing their grain through taxes and unfair rent. Therefore, though you build beautiful stone houses, you will never live in them. Though you plant lush vineyards, you will never drink wine from them.

In these times when corruption seems so widespread, God reminds us that he is aware of every thing that has taken place, and that those who have done harm to society will not be able to enjoy their ill-gotten treasure.
Every seed sown reaps its own harvest! What you sow in love, peace and justice you will reap in abundance. If you sow faithfulness, compassion and honesty, you will never be betrayed or dismayed. And if you sow the opposite, you will not escape the consequences of its fruit at harvest time.
Begin this day by thanking God and by showing an act of kindness to your neighbor. Turn aside from every form of corruption and your week will reap a harvest of blessing.
Pray this way: Father God, thank You for your wise and direct counsel. I receive it for my life because I can see that whoever does wrong receives a bitter reward. I repent of my faults; forgive my injustices and deliver me from evil. I ask you to give me opportunities to do good, for the blessing of my city and nation. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
