1 John 1:8-9 (NLT)
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Even Christians commit sin. That’s why John wrote these words to them! It is one thing to commit a sin and another to practice it continuously. There is a difference between having told a lie and being a liar, but the first, unchecked, will lead to the other. The remedy to pull out of this deadly tailspin that sin can put you into is to keep up do date with confessing your sins.
Ask forgiveness every day for those sins that you commit, consciously or unconsciously, because they separate you from God and His blessings. As you do, you will become more and more sensitive to the Lord, and He, who knows your heart and your sincerity to break the sin cycle, will forgive you, heal your desires and cause you to prosper.
You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I give up living my way and I am choosing instead to do Your will. I ask Your forgiveness for my sins. Cleanse me, I pray! I receive Your forgiving grace and Your blessing. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
