Acts 12:1-5 (NLT)
About that time King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. He had the apostle James (John’s brother) killed with a sword. When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. This took place during the Passover celebration. Then he imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring Peter out for public trial after the Passover. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.

That very same night, the fervent prayer of this Ekklesia brought about the unusual release of Peter from prison. His chains dropped off him and an angel led him past the guards and through three iron doors to complete freedom.
God is always at work to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth—to people, cities, institutions, industries, indeed to every sphere of society. He always does it in partnership with His people, the Church—the Ekklesia. When 2 or 3 come together to agree on earth concerning the things that God wants to do in their midst, chains of bondage break off, doors to freedom open and new opportunities appear. Prayer is the key to making God’s power visible and tangible, which can turn every obstacle into an opportunity and every test into a testimony for the world to see.
We encourage you to establish an Ekklesia with 1 or 2 others and begin to pray with boldness for great things: Father God, we thank You for being our Liberator. We believe that you can cut off every chain that is binding us, open the doors that are holding us captive and give us liberty to fulfill all the things You have designed for us to do. We ask you in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
