Deuteronomy 9:23 (NLT)
And at Kadesh-barnea the Lord sent you out with this command: “Go up and take over the land I have given you.’ But you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God and refused to put your trust in him or obey him.”

Kadesh Barnea was a nice place to live, but the place God wanted to give them was better, and It was just 11 days away. To get there, one only had to keep pressing forward. Instead, the Israelites gave pause to doubt and uncertainty. Rather than exercising faith that would have given them hope, they were soon paralyzed with fear, and they ended up spending the next 40 years in the desert.
In Spanish “40” is “cuarenta.” In Latin, “quarantina.” Quarantine!
Conformity entices you to stay in a comfortable place, even though it is not the best place. God challenges you to press on, to keep moving, to excel––in your work, in your business, in your studies, in your home, in your spiritual life. Snap out of your passivity, shatter the monotony, burst out of your “mental stagnation,” and take a step of faith. Cross your Jordan. Leave behind the “good” in order to conquer the “best.” Put an end to your spiritual “quarantine.”
You may want to pray like this: Father God, thank You for Your Word that makes me see that there are promises that I have not yet entered into. Today, I rise up in faith to break the passivity and mediocrity in my life to pursue the very best that You have for me and those around me. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Have a blessed day!
